Weconomy means that companies build and grow sustainable business in co-creation with poor communities so that they solve economical, ecological and/or social challenge's. Main actors include World Vision Finland and Aalto Global Impact. It's an excellent program aimed to involve locals in innovating new solutions for a better world.
In order to ensure the targeted results and objectives good project management is needed. That's where project governance comes to play. It simply means that organization- and nation-level strategies, principles and targets get included in project objectives and plans so that they do not fall into the far too common Bermuda Triangle of sustainability. Projects have to be seen as cyclical and both short- and long-term impacts need to be analyzed. Yet another reason why concepts such as PRiSM methodology and P5 standard can be useful. Ultimately projects make the world a better place.
