Finland's first quantum computer, a 50-qubit machine will be delivered in 2024.
The computer will be built in Espoo, Finland at VTT’s and Aalto University’s joint national research infrastructure Micronova. The project will proceed in three phases. A functioning five-qubit quantum computer will be developed in the first phase and the overall goal of the project is to build a 50-qubit device by 2024.
Quantum computers can solve problems that are impossible for classical computers. Thus they offer entirely new avenues for health care, machine learning, financial modeling, materials science and chemistry.
