PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) analyzes project tasks and identifies the minimum time needed to complete the project. It incorporates uncertainty by making it possible to schedule a project while not knowing precisely the details and durations of the tasks.
The task slack or float indicates how much the start time of the task can be delayed from the earliest planned start time or the planned duration extended without changing completion time of the project.
The critical path is the longest chain of dependent tasks in a project.
The Gantt chart shows project tasks on a time axis.
